Victorian Scrap - Autumn Calendar

 -Victorian Scrap Calender for Fall-

Beside the Autumn Poets sing

A few prosaic days

A little this side of the snow

And a little that side of the Haze...

Grant me, oh Lord, a sunny mind -

Thy windy will to bear!

Here we are with the best of Autumn. Bright color and warm days.
The scent of marigolds and a last hurrah from the lavender. They should have been picked and drying in bowls by now but the drone of fat fuzzy bees, slow from the cool morning, bumbling among the flowers enchants me and I stand for five, ten, fifteen minutes watching watching.  I am soaking up the bright yellow, pale lavender, the lush greens of moss, and stream and leaves. A dance troupe of white butterflies flit from marigold to mum. A Monarch rests on the explosion of hot pink geraniums that are still going strong then up, up and back on it's way, an exclamation of bright orange against the cloudless blue sky.
